The new roadside drug test has now been in force in the UK since March 2015
The test is proving an effective tool for the UK police, allowing the UK police to perform drugalyser tests at the roadside. Previously the police had to perform a 'field test ' to judge whether a driver was impaired by drugs and then if the driver failed the field test they would be taken to the police station for drug testing.
The police now have access to roadside saliva drug testing kits and are be able to perform an instant drug test if they suspect a motorist is under the influence of drugs.
